Shaivi Bhatt is an associate and patent agent with Bereskin & Parr LLP.

Her practice focuses on General IP Matters, Patents, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cleantech, Electrical & Computer Technology, Industrial Designs, Mechanical & Industrial Processes, Medical Devices and Nanotechnology.

Shaivi became a Registered Canadian Patent Agent in 2022. She graduated from the University of Waterloo and holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Nanotechnology Engineering and a Minor in Entrepreneurship. Shaivi’s expertise focuses on the electrical and high-tech fields with a particular interest in nanotechnology, energy, semiconductor devices and software-related technology.

Prior to joining the firm, she was part of a solar-cell research lab and worked in various industries, including plastics manufacturing and engineering consulting. She advised clients of all sizes, from large companies to independent inventors, incubators and start-ups, on all areas of patent related services from patentability searches, patent drafting, prosecution and maintenance of patents. Her practice also includes advising on intellectual property portfolio management, valuation of IP and strategy, as well as providing opinions relating to patentability, infringement and validity.

On weekends, Shaivi enjoys spending time hiking the Bruce Trail, travelling or trying out new board games with friends and family.
